Updated: June 28, 2023

The Regency Era in England lasted from approximately 1811-1820 when Prince George ruled as the Regent for his afflicted father, George III, also known as Mad King George.

But, the Regency Era is a sub-era of the more prolonged English Georgian Era that lasted over a century from 1714-1837, and the more widely accepted timeline of the Regency Era is from 1795 to 1837. After this, the English entered one of its lengthiest eras, the Victorian Era.

English boy names from the Regency Era have always been popular for parents on both sides of the pond. However, some names stayed in better circulation in England or America while others were popular all over!

Regency Era baby boy names are trending because of hit period dramas like Bridgerton on Netflix or the soon-to-be-released Queen Charlotte, a Briderton Sequel focusing on a fictional account of the Wife of King George III.

If you’re searching for a name for your baby boy that has stood the test of time and will likely remain a classic, then a Regency Era name should be at the top of your list!
