Choosing a name for your baby is a big decision, not only for the parent, but for your child, too! And every year, there are a slew of new names that become popular based on a variety of trends, celebrities, royal family members, and even food!

Here are just a few of the trends and popular names you can expect to see on your social media feeds, and maybe even choose for your child in 2019.

Royal Family

With two new additions to the immediate royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Louis of Cambridge, both names saw a rise in popularity this year for new babies, and we can expect to see those names continue to rise into the new year. Plus, Meghan and Prince Harry’s baby-to-be will for sure influence future babies as well.

Celebrities

Celebrities no doubt have influence on us, but would you name your child after one? The legendary family that is Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and their children Luna and Miles all had direct impact on the list, with their popularity up 27, 9, 35, and 13 percent respectively compared to previous years.
