Block Printing

Materials

  • Small blocks of wood
  • Rickrack
  • Glue
  • Liquid tempera paint in a shallow pan
  • Paper

Directions

  1. Glue rickrack to the end of a block of wood.
  2. Press the block into the paint, then onto paper to make a zigzag design.
  3. Move the block around in different directions and add different colors of paint if you like.

For an alternate activity, wrap string around a block or glue an object such as a key or small plastic ring to the end of the block to make an interesting print.
