The Star of David, known in Hebrew as Magen David or Shield of David, is a six-point star created by placing one triangle upside down on top of another triangle. This Star is an accepted symbol of Judaism and is on the flag of Israel.
Be the star of your Hanukkah celebration by making these lovely Star of David door or wall decorations for your friends and relatives.

Time involved: One to two hours
Materials:
- Wire cutters
- Gold berry garland (You can find these in the floral section of craft stores, especially during the holiday season.)
- Wire
- 3 yards of 1-inch-thick blue ribbon
Using wire cutters, cut the berry garland in half. Make a triangle out of each half of the garland, and wire the ends together. Be sure to squeeze the points of the triangles together to form a sharp point on the star.
Place one of the triangles upside down, on top of the other triangle, to form a six-pointed star. Wire the two triangles together.
Make a bow out of the ribbon: Start at one end of the ribbon and leave a tail about 6 inches long. Make a bow at this point with each loop about 6 inches long. Hold the middle of the bow in one hand and twist each loop around in the center one time to keep it firmly in place. Add another loop on each side and twist in place. Add a third loop on each side and twist in place. Add a final 3-inch loop in the middle and hold in place with your hand. Make a second 6-inch tail on the other side of the bow. Thread a piece of wire through all the loops and around the center of the bow. Twist the wire closed. Fluff up your bow and notch the ends.
Attach the bow to the top of the star with wire. Make a loop out of the end of the wire for hanging purposes.
