Q
I would like to begin teaching my young children Spanish at home. I'm wondering where to find good kids' textbooks. Can you direct me?
A
For teaching young children, I would recommend a more interactive course of study.

Audioforum.com has an amazing selection of games, books, audio and video cassettes, coloring books, and more for the student learning Spanish. The "Teach Me" tapes are especially good for young children. "Storybridges to Spanish for Children" teaches through the use of familiar stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, told in words and phrases in Spanish on audio cassette.

Many parents recommend the Power-glide Spanish program at power-glide.com.

The Learnables at www.learnables.com is another favorite in the homeschool community.

For starters, there is also a free, online tutorial, called "Learn Spanish" at www.studyspanish.com/freesite.htm. Good luck!
