Chef for a Day

Let your child pretend to be chef and help prepare a simple meal with you.

Chef for a Day

  • 15 to 20 minutes

  • Ingredients for a simple recipe

Pick a simple recipe for a meal and let your child help to prepare it, allowing your child to present the food to the family with great flourish. French toast, grilled cheese sandwiches, and refrigerator biscuits are good items to begin with.

  • Help your child plan recipes for an entire day.
  • Designate a regular weekday, marked on the calendar, for Kid's Cook Day.
  • Talk about healthy food and work with your child to pick and prepare a recipe that is healthy and a gift to those you both love.
