About Kristen

Kristen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Substance Use Disorder Professional who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Kristen is a Child Mental Health Specialist and a Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Specialist with experience working in hospitals, community mental health, partial-hospitalization and residential treatment, school-based programs, higher education, and research. 

She is certified in a variety of evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), SBIRT, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT+) to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and behavior problems. 

She is a co-author of the book "Adolescent Nutrition: Assuring the Needs of Emerging Adults" with Erik Schlocker and Andrew Gehl.
