Shoe-print-asaurus

Age: Preschool and up
Time: An hour or more
Type of activity: Arts and Crafts

Dinosaurs are always a big hit with kids. Help your child make his very own dino.

Materials needed:
· Multi-colored construction paper (several sheets)
· Scissors
· Glue
· Pencil
· Other decorative materials (broken pieces of pasta, glitter, markers...)

What to do:

Step One: Let your child choose a color for his dinosaur's body. Also choose colors for dino's legs, tail, and spikes (if it has any!).

Step Two: Trace your child's shoe on a piece of construction paper. This will be the dinosaur's body.

Step Three: Using a pencil, your child can draw the dinosaur's tail, legs, and arms on construction paper.

Step Four: Cut out the body parts from the construction paper and glue them to the dinosaur's body.

Step Five: Now, decorate the dinosaur. Try gluing broken pasta pieces for spikes and teeth, or add glitter for shiny skin!

Get the Facts: Big Book of Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs never cease to fascinate children. This book is a wonderful pictorial reference that tells kids all they'll want to know about these prehistoric "lizards."
