Lip Liner

While overlined lips aren’t necessarily coming back, using lip liner as a base for long lasting lip color is! Between lip kits from brands like Kylie Cosmetics with a matching liner and gloss, and making a match for yourself in the store, lip liner is an age-old trick that we’re happy to see making a return for a look that lasts way past lunch. Here are a few additional ways you can use lip liner to your benefit!

Overalls & Jumpers

You can keep things casual and pair your jumper with a striped tee and sneakers for errand running like mommy blogger Liz Adams did here, or dress things up with a pair of heels, a long sleeve turtleneck and a red lip for a night out.

Clothing Sets

Popularized by the likes of Cher Horowitz and Dionne Davenport of Clueless, and seeing a rise in popularity again today are outfit sets. Between crop tops and high-waisted pants in matching patterns, and jackets with coordinating skirts, these sets are a chic return that we don’t see going away anytime soon. Plus, you don’t have to wear it together, so the options are endless!

Mini Bags

Gone are the days of oversized bags, mini backpacks, fanny packs, and small crossbodies are the way to go this year! Of course, if you’re still in diaper-bag-carrying mode, you may not be ready to transition into smaller bags just yet, but mini bags are definitely making a comeback!

Denim On Denim

Whether you’re wearing a denim on denim set, or just two pieces of denim together, this trend has been on the upswing for the past few years, but has origins in the 90s. Not quite sure how to pull it off? Try wearing two different shades of denim, like white jeans and an indigo wash jacket, or a dark mini skirt and light wash jacket.

Midi Skirts

As seen many times over and over again by Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica on Friends, this trend is making a comeback for day and night looks. Emily Schuman shows how you can keep the trend professional with a pair of booties and a tucked-in sweater, but you can just as easily keep things casual with a tee shirt and sneakers when you’re on the go.
