  • Czech and Slovak (Šesták) and Hungarian (Seszták) : from Czech šesták, the name of an old coin (literally ‘sixer’; it was at one time worth six kreuzers). The surname would have been acquired by someone who had to pay rent of this amount or for some other anecdotal reason.
