  • Italian : habitational name from any of various places named with Orio, for example Orio Canavese (Turni province, Piedmont), Orio al Serio (Bergamo province, Lombardy), Orio Litta (Milan province, Lombardy).
  • Basque : habitational name from Orio in Gipuzkoa province.
  • Japanese : not a common name in Japan. One version is written with a character pronounced chisha or chisa, a tree which is a sort of false persimmon. Other versions are written with characters used phonetically, or with a pair meaning ‘hanging tail’.
