In this activity, your child will find numbers or letters in old magazines and newspapers, and use them to create sentences.

Search for a Hundred Numbers

Time

  • 10 to 20 minutes

Materials

  • Old magazines and newspapers
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Glue

Directions

Find the numbers 1 through 100 (or a lower number, if desired) together and cut them out and paste them onto a sheet of paper.

Extensions

  • Do the same exercise with the letters of the alphabet.
  • Make simple sentences by gluing together words cut from different pages.
