3 Quick and Easy Presidents' Day Crafts

This Presidents' Day, teach your little ones all about the country's history with a few Presidents Day crafts. Don't worry if you aren't very artistic - you can easily pull off these simple craft projects with your kiddos, even if it's last minute.

Presidential Finger Puppets

Children love to make and play with puppets, and these cute finger puppets will keep little hands busy and encourage an interest in learning about America's most cherished presidents.

Materials you'll need:

• Construction paper
• Scissors
• Tape
• Glue stick
• Quarter

• Penny

What to do:

1. Cut out a couple of 3-inch squares, one from the black and one from the blue construction paper.
2. Roll each paper square around your finger to create a tube, then tape the tube in place along the seam.
3. Cut out a triangle and a cloud shape from white construction paper. The triangle will become Lincoln's shirt and the cloud will become Washington's shirt.
4. Glue the shirt shapes on to the respective tubes using a glue stick.
5. Tape a coin onto each tube with the profile facing out; use the penny for Lincoln and the quarter for Washington.
6. Cut out a small rectangle from black construction paper and a triangle from blue construction paper. These shapes will become the presidents' hats.
7. Glue the black rectangle across the black tube above the penny to complete the Abraham Lincoln finger puppet, and the blue triangle across the top of the blue tube to complete the George Washington finger puppet.

George Washington Cotton Ball Wig

This super easy craft can double as a costume and uses very few materials that you can probably find around your house.

Materials you'll need:

• Large brown paper bag
• Scissors
• Markers or crayons
• Cotton balls
• Craft glue
• Paintbrush
• Yarn or ribbon

What to do:

1. Flatten the brown paper bag and place it on a table with the flap facing down.
2. Starting from the bottom of the bag, draw a square shape that's a little larger than your child's head. Cut out the square shape using scissors.
3. Open the bag and place it on to your child's head to make sure it fits. If it doesn't, trim the cut-out area a little more.
4. Cut off the side edges of the bag, which will allow the back flap to hang down loosely.
5. Apply a thin layer of craft glue over the entire outside of the bag using a paintbrush, then cover the bag with cotton balls. Allow the glue to dry completely.
6. Tie a piece of yarn or a ribbon around the back flap so that it looks like a pony tail.

Abraham Lincoln Craft Stick Cabin

Abraham Lincoln was raised in a little log cabin, just like the one you can make with your children using craft sticks. Even toddlers can attempt this simple craft.

Materials you'll need:

• Construction paper
• Craft sticks
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• Penny
• Tape

What to do:

1. Glue craft sticks on to a sheet of black construction paper, arranging the craft sticks one on top of the other so that they form a square.
2. Cut out shapes from colorful construction paper with scissors; a larger rectangle for the door, a square for the window, a triangle for the roof, and a smaller rectangle for the chimney.
3. Glue the shapes into place on top of the craft stick square.
4. Tape a penny on top of the square window shape with the profile facing out. This makes it look like Lincoln is looking out of the window of his cabin.
