  • Edward Griswold (1607–91) and his family were Puritans who came to the American colonies from Wootton Wawen, Warwickshire, England, on the Mary and John, arriving on 30 May 1630. They settled first in Dorcester MA, and in 1639 moved to Windsor VT. Matthew Griswold emigrated to New England in 1639, settling first in Windsor, CT, and later in Lyme, CT.
