- Galician : habitational name from one of the Galician places called Baadmonde (earlier written Bahamonde) in the province of Lugo, most probably Santiago de Baamonde (Begonte). This is a characteristic example of the numerous (over a thousand) medieval places which were named after their owners, in this case Badamundus.
