Be careful 'bout the shoes; in my neighborhood, all the front porches have stairs leading up and down. Some kids' shoes are just accidents waiting to happen! I sit out at the curb with the candy, on a folding chair to keep kids from clomping up my steps and tripping over long hems, loose shoes, scuba fins, roller skates---every years it's somethin...

Anyway, part of the key to the Starlet style would be color choice. Go with Barbie pinks, lavender, frou-frou lollipop colors. Dark colors convey a Whole other type o' woman...
