Description of technique:
I am a seventh-grader who has been constantly teased. The girl, Cathy, who bullies me passes sly comments that she knows irritate me. She passes them in front of her friends, which I am friends with as well. When I told them about her bothering me, they were like, "How could you say that? She's soo nice with you!" They don't have any idea that I'm bothered by what the girl says.

I have also been teased by others, at least six other people, and my mother just got frustrated because I was being picked on so much, so then she said to me, "It's better to seem cruel than to seem stupid. Give them two eyes for one eye and two teeth for one. Hurt them twice as much as they hurt you. Find their weaknesses. Remember, nobody is perfect."

I did what my mother told me to, and it worked! I felt more confident, and I also act like Cathy, passing comments that sound nice but actually are painted blacker than what they seem. I turn the situation into a funny one as well, so that at least I get a laugh.

Age group this technique is effective for:
Middle School
High School & Beyond
