What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
1. Black (wash-out) hair color for long/med. straight hair or long black wig
2. Wool sleeveless romper dress or heavy fabric dress
3. White blouse or shirt with cuffs and collar (long sleeves)
4. Black cable tights & black shoes with buckle or casual/plain
5. One yd. black ribbon, needle, thread
6. Grey or black lipstick, black nail polish, eyeliner, mascara, baby powder
7. Black marker or wash-off paint
8. Medium size doll
9. Dark fabric or doll dress (sheet dyed black)
10. Bobby pins & stickpins

Instructions:
Cut wig so it is not 3/4 length down the back.
If dress has sleeves, cut them off and hem.
Remove doll head.
Fold fabric in half and place doll neck below seam. Cut pattern 1 inch wider than doll. Reverse pattern and pin it together. Sew pattern, leaving sleeves, bottom and neck unsewn. Remove stickpins.
Cut 1 ft. of ribbon. Cut neckline of doll like a 1/2 moon shape and place ribbon around hole in neckline and sew up leaving 1/8 inch to pull ribbon through. Unfold pattern and place around doll, pulling and tying the ribbon around the neck.
Most girls who know how to sew can do this themselves with a little help. It does not have to be too fancy.
Color doll's fingernails with marker or wash-off paint.
Before getting on costume clothes, paint nails black.
Place remaining ribbon around collar and tie into a medium bow.
Brush face with baby powder for a pale look. Lightly put on eyeliner and mascara. Use eyeliner to outline lips and put on a lot of lipstick.
Pin wig into place or part hair in the middle and hairspray straight.
Don't forget Wednesday's doll, and you're all set!

Other information to consider:
Cotume clothes and doll could be found at a thrift store.
Old tights can be used even if a knee is ripped.
If a doll is not available, a heavy thick book to carry is okay, it just may be harder to guess who you are.
