Any dog costume (or draw on cardboard and cut out one dog nose and two ears, and attach to your kid with string or rubber bands)
At least 2 wristwatches
Instructions:
Dress up as a dog. (All you really need is a nose and ears to vaguely represent a dog, because it is not the main part of the gag.)
Put at least 2 watches on your child's wrists, or as many as possible, and on both wrists.
(Get it? .... WATCH DOG!)
It is a cute added touch to any dog outfit, too, to make it something a little more unique.
Other information to consider:
Make sure you put the watches on his wrists securely so they don't come off and get lost. Also, make sure they fit snug on the wrists so they don't flop or move around, which might be annoying for the child.
If they have long sleeves on, instead of putting the watches on over the sleeves, keep them directly fastened on their wrists. When someone asks what they are supposed to be, they can put their arms out, with the watches coming out of the sleeve cuffs to show that they aren't just any dog, but a WATCH dog!
"Strap type" kids' watches work best, and again, keep the watches on snug so they come out of the cuffs easily.
This is also a great way to make sure your child keeps track of time and to be home on time, or meet up with a group on time.
It is a good tip that ALL kids should wear a watch when trick or treating. this is a good way to make sure they do, since it is part of the costume!
