What age group is this costume for?
Elementary School
Middle School
Estimated time required to make this costume:
1/2 - 2 hours...depending on how elaborate you want to get
Difficulty level:
Quick and easy - no sewing required
Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
foam board, wrapping paper, felt, paint, string
Instructions:
Our son loves pizza. When he was ten, we made him into the "human pizza."
We took 2 pieces of foam board, and cut them into two huge pie shapes.
By crunching up yellow wrapping paper (you could also use brown wrapping paper or a brown grocery bag) as the "cheese," we hot glued it on the one side of the pie shaped piece of foam board.
On top of that, we cut out pieces of felt to look like pepperoni and mushrooms...we painted some of the felt to give it that pepperoni look.
On the other piece of pie shaped foam board we drew the words "the Human Pizza!"
Then, we made an old fashioned, sandwich board advertisement--using the string to attach the two pieces of foam board over his shoulders. He wore it over a tan sweatsuit...(pizza on front, "human pizza" on the back).
This was easy to make and very funny for people who saw him. He enjoyed being his favorite food.
