What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger

Estimated time required to make this costume:
1 hour

Difficulty level:
Quick and easy - no sewing required

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
green pajamas with feet (sweat suit works well, too)
5 sheets 12"x18" green craft foam
2 orange 1.5" pom poms
2 28mm wiggle eyes
1 yard 1/8" green ribbon
2 green pipe cleaners
2 green 1/2" pom poms
black permanent marker
scissors
ruler
glue
pencil
glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions:
*Cut foam pieces: one oval shoulder piece, 16"x71/2"; two wings, 12"x4"; one body segment, 13" long x 7" at waist, tapering at it's end; two leg pieces, 8" x 3 1/2".
*Draw marker lines on body pieces.
*Glue the shoulder piece under the pajama arms, and body segments to the waist. Glue wings to the underside of the shoulder piece. Attach leg pieces to the outside of the pajama legs.
*To make the headpiece, lay a piece of foam on a flat surface. Measure 4" and put a mark then 6 additional inches and mark. Do the same on the other side. Cut a 2" slit. Bend the foam at the slits crossing the foam and securing the overlapping pieces with glue. Round ends. As an alternative, you can glue eyes and antennae to a green hat.
*Glue eyes to orange pom poms, and the pom poms to the headpiece. Fold the pipe cleaners in half and glue a green pom pom to each folded end.
*Poke the other antennae ends through the headpiece just above the eyes.
*Cut the green ribbon in half, and with the pencil poke one ribbon through each side of the headpiece to make the ties.
