What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Estimated time required to make this costume:
2 hours

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
Black leotard
Black tights
Red fabric (felt works best)
Black felt (for dots)
Headband
Black pipe cleaners
Pom Poms (red or silver)
Pillow stuffing

Instructions:
Make a large oval from the red fabric.
Make a second oval, slightly smaller than the first.
Stitch or hot glue the edges of the ovals together (leaving room to stuff), allow to dry.
Stuff the ovals to form the back of the lady bug.
Stitch or hot glue the remaining part.
Cut circles from the black felt and hot glue or stitch to the red oval, allow to dry.
Stitch to back of black leotard.
Use pipe cleaner and headband to make antannea and apply pom poms to end of antanneas.

Dress child in tights, leotard, and headband.

Other information to consider:
Use stockings and stuffing to create additional legs.

Same concept could be used for spider, butterfly, or bumble bee.
