Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
long black skirt
high-necked white blouse
1/2 yard red satin (or similar material)
blue and white felt
cameo pin (optional)
large floppy straw hat
silk flowers

Instructions:
-We visited our local Goodwill store for the clothing.
-Cut red satin to make shoulder to hip sash. I stitched it closed, but you could pin it to skirt and blouse.
-Cut letters for VOTES FOR WOMEN of felt and glue onto sash.
-Make turn-of-century style hat by gluing flowers onto hat. I used a hot-glue gun.

Other information to consider:
My daughter got this idea from her American Girl books. She really learned to appreciate history and was complimented several times for her creativity.

This was HER idea. I just helped with the supplies. She was 8 years old.
