4 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School

Estimated time required to make this costume:
2-3 Hours

Difficulty level:
Quick and easy - no sewing required

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
2 pieces of oak tag (heavy-duty white cardboard paper available at most office supply stores)
Red, black and yellow magic markers
Scissors
Black ribbon
A deck of cards
A hole punch
A crown

Your child should wear:
Black turtleneck
Black pants
Black shoes
White gloves

Instructions:
The size of your child will determine how big you want to make your 2 cards--average 1 to 2 feet in width and 2 to 3 feet in length.

Cut 2 pieces of oak tag the same size. Decorate each card by copying the details and image of the king of hearts from any standard deck of cards.

Punch two holes in the top of each card at the level of the child's shoulder blades. Tie ribbon from one hole to the other so that card can hang off the shoulders like a jumper. You can also punch holes at waist level and tie ribbon around the waist area for a less floppy look.

Last but not least, don't forget the crown!

Other information to consider:
This costume idea can be easily adapted for any card in the deck as well as a baseball or M&M costume, for example. You are limited only by your imagination and artistic talents!
