3 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Estimated time required to make this costume:
2 to 3 hours

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
1. Black or blue bedsheet
2. Stick OR
3. Large black contruction paper
4. 2 Large pieces of black or blue felt
5. Merlin-type robe pattern
6. Store-bought witch's hat or a witch's hat pattern
7. Optional: A piece of elastic string
8. Black paint if using stick

Instructions:
Using a needle and black or blue thread (depending on what color sheet and felt you have), sew the sheet following the robe pattern, making sure it fits your child. If you are using a stick, paint it with black paint and let dry. For a quicker way, take a piece of large black contruction paper and roll it up so it is short, not long. Then tape it together to make it stay. That is your wand! Then follow the directions on the hat directions page that I gave you. Now all you have to do is put the hat and the robe on your child and give him or her the wand, and you have an adorable little Witch or Wizard, Harry Potter-Style!

Other information to consider:
Make sure the robe is not too long to make sure your child does not trip and fall over it.
