Wide green felt
Contrasting yarn
Darning needle
Scissors
Belt or cord to tie
Accessories appropriate to your choice of costume as follows:
Peter Pan--Feather for cap, cardboard or toy plastic short sword, green pants or tights & green shirt
Robin Hood--Bow, quiver if desired, play arrows, pouch, green or brown pants or tights & shirt
Elf--Felt elf hat (dollar store type) or Santa hat, red pants or tights & shirt

Instructions:
CAP: (Peter Pan & Robin Hood) From a small piece of green felt, cut a diamond shape large enough to fit the wearer's head when folded. Cut diamond with 2 long sides and 2 short ones. Fold down short end of diamond and using contrasting yarn & darning needle, make big stitches to secure the tip of the shortest end to the tips of the 2 ends with one long & one short side. Fold up long side of cap to make a Robin Hood style cap, and if desired cut a small slit in the side to secure a feather.
TUNIC (Basic costume): Fold in half a piece of green felt wide enough to cover the shoulders and long enough to reach desired length on wearer. Cut a triangle big enough to fit over head into the center of the fold. Using contrasting yarn & darning needle, make large stitches around this neck opening. Make slits in felt at waist level. Insert belt or cord & cinch to waist.

Other information to consider:
This costume is appropriate for all ages with accessories as suggested above.
We are recycling this one for the 3rd time this Halloween. We began as Peter Pan, then to Robin Hood, and finally the Elf this year.
Who knows? Maybe we'll find yet another use next year, if it isn't outgrown by then!
