3 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger

Estimated time required to make this costume:
20 minutes

Difficulty level:
Quick and easy - no sewing required

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
cat headband (at Kmart)
black leotard and tights (in your child's size)
knee-high single nylon
cotton balls
no-smudge black face makeup
safety pin (prefer diaper pin w/ plastic protective head)

Instructions:
First, stuff nylon w/ cotton and safety pin to back of leotard for tail. Dress child in leotard and tights, put on headband (trouble w/ toddlers because they don't like to keep them on) and paint whiskers on face. Voila! Now they are a kitty.

Other information to consider:
A diaper pin w/ a protective plastic head is preferred to prevent the child from being stuck w/ the pin. You should add reflective tape on this costume so the child can be seen safely in the dark. I held my 1-year-old, so I didn't include this.
