What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger

Estimated time required to make this costume:
5 hours

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
1 cardboard box (without top or bottom)
1 cardboard poster tube
3 feet of ribbon
2 yards of brown felt
5 sheets of tissue paper
1 roll of masking tape
1 tube of tacky glue
1 roll of taping gauze (Johnson & Johnson) - any drug store
1 pair of black sweatpants
1 permanent marker
1 bag of stuffing

Instructions:
1. Attach ribbon to inside of box to make an X.
2. Glue felt to cardboard box.
3. Attach poster tube to box with masking tape (at an angle).
4. Crumple all of the tissue paper into a ball.
5. Cover ball (head) in masking tape.
6. Wrap poster tube (neck) in masking tape.
7. Cut rectangle of felt to fit over top of cardboard box.
8. Cut a hole in the middle of the felt as big around as the wearer's waist.
9. Stuff the sweatpants and attach them to the hole.
10. Make a cone out of paper and attach it to the front of the ball (this will be the beak).
11. Attach the head to the neck.
12. Attach rest of ribbon to head to make "reins".
13. Hook ribbon X around wearer's waist.
14. Wrap legs in taping gauze.
15. Put felt with hole around waist.
16. HAVE FUN!

Other information to consider:
Costume can be a little heavy in the front.
