4 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger

Estimated time required to make this costume:
45 min. to 1 hour

Difficulty level:
Quick and easy - no sewing required

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
Old Sheet (the dirtier the better)
Plastic Bugs (spiders, roaches, ants, etc.)
Black Nail Polish
Hot Glue Gun with glue
Makeup (ordinary grown up makeup)
Wig (or rat out your child's hair)
Fake Blood

Instructions:
Throw dirt on the sheet so that it looks like the child has been wearing it for centuries. Cut a head hole in the middle of the sheet. Place it on the child. Take the front of th sheet and wrap it around the child like a dress. The back half will be the cape that should drag on the ground.

Hot glue the bugs onto any part of the costume so that it looks as if the bugs are crawling all over the child.

Paint her nails black. Use pale or light face powder on entire face and any visible part on the child. Use grey eye shadow around the eyes. Put red lipstick on the mouth. Drip fake blood down the corners of the mouth (don't worry if it gets on the dress, it makes it look more realistic).

Rat the hair out so that it looks wild or use the wig for this look.

This costume won my daughter a first place trophy for scariest costume under age 5.

Other information to consider:
Make sure that the costume is just high enough off the floor so that your child doesn't trip.
