4 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Estimated time required to make this costume:
Around 2 hours

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
Green Felt (large piece)
battery operated x-mas lights
garland
x-mas decorations
Green sweatsuit

Instructions:
Measure felt to child, then cut 2 triangles and sew together everything except bottom part and leaving opening for arms and neck (sort of like a cone shape) and then trim all in garland and glue on the x-mas ornaments. The hat should be a cone shape also. Attach a big star to the top. Lastly, you can use safety pins from the inside to attach the lights all around the costume and then put the controls in the pocket.

Other information to consider:
My son won 1st prize for this costume in a city contest. You should remember if they wear it to school, it is hard to sit down with the ornaments in the back. Also, I took miniture candy canes and glued them all over.
