What age group is this costume for?
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Estimated time required to make this costume:
20-30 min. (not including time for purchasing materials.)

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
- A couple of yards of brightly colored fabric (The fabric needs to be stretchy - so some sort of lycra. Depending on the age and size of the person, the amount may be small of large.)
- A plain white bikini top
(Optional: For young girls or kids who don't want to show a lot of skin, a mesh or knitted top is suggested.)
- A very long wig (Your choice in color and texture)
- Small shells, "pearls", glitter
- Lots of hair spray

Instructions:
1.) Simply sew two lenghts of the fabric together, tapering at the ankles. Then cut out two mderatly sized "fins" and sew onto the bottem. (Leave a little bit of walking room for the kid. Since the fabric is stretchy, you won't need too much room.)

2.) Take the glitter, shells and "pearls" and glue to the tail and bikini top.

3.) Brush the wig to desired consistancy and load on the hair spray. You want to achieve the look of water beads or mist.

4.) After putting on the costume and wig, rub the glitter onto arms, stomach, chest and face. Some in the hair is neat, too.

Other information to consider:
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes that you won't trip in. Keep the glitter away from the eyes.
