3 Star Costume Rating

What age group is this costume for?
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Estimated time required to make this costume:
Half hour to an hour

Difficulty level:
Almost as easy - some sewing

Items you will need: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
Colored sweatsuit (black will do)
Colorful tights or stockings
Socks
Needle and thread
Pipe cleaner & headband
Two pieces of felt
Felt marker or pen (glitter works great!)

Instructions:
First, take the headband and bend the pipe cleaner in half, so that the pipe cleaner is bent around it and then glue or tape it there. There's your antenna!

Next, stuff the tights or stockings with the socks (rolled into balls). The reason the tights are colorful is because they are going to be your legs! Sew the legs to the sides of the shirt (only a few stiches needed, just 2 or 3). Make sure they are pretty tight. You might want to sew them so that when the person in the costume raises their arms, the legs will come, too.

Finally, cut the felt into a circle and glue or sew the circle to back and front of the shirt. Use the marker, pen or glitter to write Y2K all over it.

Put on the antenna, shirt, and pants and you're ready to go! Remember to smile!

Other information to consider:
You could do different colors of the sweatsuit.

You could stuff clear tights with bright colored socks.

You could go in a group of Millenium Bugs!
