Description of method:
We had done everything under the sun to potty train my then 5 year old son.

Then we thought of making embarrassing comments in public, using the diapers as the key.

While he was at daycare, my husband customized a highchair, playpen, changing table, stroller, and a crib. When he got home he wanted to know where his big boy bed was.

We said, "You can't be a big boy if you still wear diapers. Big boy beds are for big boys, not for babies who still pee and poo in their pants and have to wear diapers all the time."

When we had friends and their 3 kids over that weekend, he came up and whispered, "Mommy, I need a new diaper."

I exclaimed loudly, "Oh! Did my baby wee wee in his diapee?!"

When everyone started to laugh, he started to cry and threw a tantrum on the floor. That made things worse.

I scooped him up, gave him a bottle of warm milk, put a fresh diaper on him, put his pacifier in his mouth and put him to bed in his crib.

The next morning when I tried to put a fresh diaper on him, he said, "Mommy, I wanna be a big boy now." And he never wanted his diapers again.
