Brief summary:
Here's a book about a fearful little pig who stays home on Halloween, while his brothers and sisters go out for a good time. A witch arrives with her cat, and seeing that John has poor treat offerings, gets him into the kitchen to prepare a feast for her monster friends. He has a great time with them, then when his family comes home assuming that his evening has been lonely, he throws another party for them. Told in rhymed couplets and illustrated in ink-and-watercolor, this book is a partner to Angel Pig and the Hidden Christmas by the author and illustrator, as well as other pig picture books by illustrator David M. McPhail.
