Brief summary:
This is another in a series of books about Lilly, a precocious young mouse. In this story, Lilly loves school and adores her teacher, Mr. Slinger, until he takes away her musical purse because she won't stop playing with it in class. When Lilly attempts to seek revenge on Mr. Slinger she discovers that he has shown her a great kindness, and she realizes that she must set things right.

Lilly is the star of an earlier story called "Julius, Baby of the World," and is also featured in "Chester's Way."
