Brief summary:
Piggie Pie is a hilarious book about a witch that wakes up with a hankering for Piggie Pie, but comes across a few problems getting the ingredients. This book can be read to both small children and older children. There are so many ways it can be used as a model for great writing. There are tons of examples of figurative language and it ties in fairy tales and nursery rhymes as well. I read it to my 6th graders and they were practically rolling on the classroom floor laughing!
