Brief summary:
This is a beautifully written story about a tomcat, Oliver, who rules the roost in his New York apartment until the day his owner brings home an orphaned bunny, Marshmallow. Initially Oliver is fearful then he chooses denial. Love, however, wins out in the end, and the two are dear friends. Although written in the 1940s, it's a beautiful and fresh story for animal lovers of all generations. This was a Caldecott Award Winner.
