Instructions for using this technique:
Having ADHD myself, I can understand when my daughter lays in bed for hours and just can't sleep. So if after 2 hours she can't sleep, we go to the kitchen and have a bowl of ice cream, cold cereal with milk or hot chocolate. Anything with milk. While we eat we talk about whatever is on her mind and this helps to slow her brain down so that she has the opportunity to sleep. I know it is hard, but please try to remember that it is not that he/she does not want to sleep, but that the ADHD gives them a harder time slowing down and if you don't stop moving how do you sleep?
