Age group(s) for which this technique is helpful: Preschool and Younger Elementary School Middle School High School & Beyond
Primarily used to improve behavior: At Home At School Both At Home and At School
Instructions for using this technique:
Discover an exercise or sport that your child seems to enjoy and then encourage him/her to be involved, in some way, with exercising at least once a day. It burns energy and can potentially increase self-image. There are singular sports as well as team sports. The choice of sport needs to be considered with the general personality and age appropriate ability of the child. I should mention that with some sports or exercise ADHD qualities could be a plus, and with other sports learning controlled "chaos" can help ADHD persons transfer to other situations.
