Age group(s) for which this technique is helpful:
Elementary School

Primarily used to improve behavior:
Both At Home and At School

Instructions for using this technique:
I use my computer program, Powerpoint, to make a good note with my picture on it.
Title: Good note from Dr. Cheung
On the left is my picture.
On the right: This is a good note for your good behavior. Keep it up.

I then sign and date it.
Put the note on a piece of colored construction paper. Post it on the chalk board. I tell the student "Even if I turn my back, this Dr. Cheung is looking at you. You give me the good class work and good behavior for a week, you can take this good note home with my signature and my picture. Your mother will love to see it. It will remind you to do your classwork and to be good boy or good girl when you come to school. Put it on the wall in your bedroom. Your bedroom will look very pretty with this award".

Other information parents should consider before using this technique:
The parents should give extra incentive at home when they see their children bringing good notes home.
