Age group(s) for which this technique is helpful:
Elementary School

Primarily used to improve behavior:
At School

Instructions for using this technique:
I was having problems getting reports home, homework, and was geting NO communication from the school. My 9 year old grandson with ADHD had found the weak link! The school. Anyway, he was having increased problems with wandering, not coming in from lunch on time, not getting his meds, not getting work done at school, and getting into lots of trouble. AND the school was not letting me know on a daily basis. So I got a two pocket folder with a place in the center to hang paper. We had already attemped to have daily reports but the teacher was not filling it out. So I made Chris a folder. On the front I drew a circle and wrote around it "Chris's circle of success" using fabric paint that was glittery and made stars and lines. Inside the circle he told me behaviors at school he needed to work on and I wrote them down. Inside the first pocket I wrote "my homework", and in the back pocket "papers from desk to come home" with a ps at the bottom saying I LOVE YOU, NANA. Each Monday the folder will go empty. The first teacher to get it will put five daily progress sheets in it, which have a behavior column, homework, and goals column. All the teachers have a place to sign and comment. Each will reward Chris for completing his circle thru the day. It comes home to me nightly and I have gotten my communication. Yesterday was our first day and I dropped my teeth, the teachers did their jobs and Chris was happy and proud when he got home. Thanks for listening. Darlene
