Age of your child at time of loss:
2
7

What type of loss did your child experience?
Loss of a loved one

Please briefly describe the loss and the emotions your child experienced.
When my grandmother died, my children were quite young, and they hadn't really known her.

But it was a time to share memories, and the hometown in the Midwest. I took photos of every room of the house, which was good, because the house was later sold and remodeled (and children laugh in that house again). We drove out to where my other grandparents had farmed. We saw the wheat blow in the breeze, and felt that same breeze on our faces. We walked along old brick sidewalks, and drove on the few remaining red brick roads in town. The sharing was good for my daughter and I.

Please add any additional comments or suggestions:
While it isn't quite true that "you can't go home again", any place that you have been away from a good long while is not going to stand still in time. Expect changes! And record what you can, in words and pictures, for your children.
