Age of your child at time of loss:

What type of loss did your child experience?
Loss of a loved one

Please briefly describe the loss and the emotions your child experienced.
My daughter lost her father unexpected, he was only 34 yrs and she was very heart broken and withdrawn

How did you help your child deal with his or her emotions? How did you help your child regain a sense of normalcy?
I found Brook's Place for grieving children and there parents. It was the best place for this type of thing it really helpped my daughter and me alot. We went to seperate groups twice a month. It gave us a chance to spend time together and apart. when you first arrive everyone eats pizza together then goes to your group. For the kids they had an art room, a craft room and a padded wall room thry coulf use sponge sticks to let out their anger or tear up newspaper and throw it. when we finally stopped going my daughter said to me " mom I feel better now and I know there are other kids waiting to come here so I am ready to go and let someone else get help." Her last day at Brook's Place she recieved a baggie of glossy rocks each one had the name of someone that was in her group so she would never forget.

Please add any additional comments or suggestions:
absolutley the best experience ever I highly recommend looking up BROOK'S PLACE up.
