Husband's/father's death

What were the feelings your child was experiencing?
Fear
Confusion
Sadness
Anger
Depression
Helplessness
Hopelessness

How did you address those feelings and help your child deal with the tragedy?
I had to keep an open line of communication with him, tell him my feelings, and allow him to express his feelings. We also received counseling to help us though the grief.

Please add any additional comments or suggestions:
Listen to your child. They are going through the same emotions that your are feeling. Don't be afaid to seek help. Friends are great to have around when you feel you can't go on. It is tough being an only parent and it is tougher growing up without a parent. Make sure you tell your child that you love them every day. Hugs are free. Even teens need to know someone is there for them. And teach them about God.
