Appropriate age group(s):
Preschool and Younger

In which category would you classify this game?
Card and Board Games

Estimated time needed to play:
20 - 30 minutes

Materials needed (if applicable):
You can use two complete sets of alphabet flash cards or you could create your own using index cards. I made mine from different colored construction paper cut into small squares.

Description of reading game:
It is played just like classic Go Fish. I start the kids off with just three cards each. The children take turns asking each other for a letter to try to get matches.

What reading skill(s) does this game use or develop in children?
This has been a big help with letter recognition. It's better than drilling them with flash cards. I have also started introducing letter sounds into the game.
