What subject(s) does this advice apply to?
Easing emotional trauma

Describe the situation or problem.
Is it best to stay married for the sake of the kids and wait till they're adults, or divorce when it is in the best interest for everyone?

What advice can you offer?
I stayed married for the sake of the kids till they were 16 & 18. They were destroyed and came to us and said, "you ruined our lives and we knew at 8 that you should have divorced." They lived an unhappy childhood, then were destroyed as young adults.

Please add any additional comments or suggestions.
My advise is don't wait. Consider the quality of life you'll give your kids, both staying married or divorced, then proceed in the interest of what's best for the kids.

This advice is most appropriate for parents with children in...
High School & Beyond
