Treat Safety
Describe your safety tip:
Some community hospitals offer to scan treat bags. I am not sure what's detected; likely, it's items like pins and razor blades. Some bad thangs could still be lurking in there, and get past a machine.
There is really no substitute for visiting only the homes of persons you know and trust, and visually inspecting every item your child brings home!
Sadly, the days of apples and home-made items are pretty much gone, except for parties. I used to make one batch of popcorn balls for kids I knew well, but no more. Having to put a name n' address label on popcorn balls took all the whiz-bang fun out of the deal anyway...
Recently at the store I saw commercially made popcorn balls, individually wrapped, in Mondo-sized boxes. That works 4 me...if I can just keep the 6 year old out of them until Halloween!
My favorite Halloween treat ever in my life was a gingerbread boy cookie. 32 years later, I still remember that incredible item! If you want to distribute Incredible Treats, ya gotta be a school Room Mother, or host a party.
