Describe your Halloween celebration idea:
For older kids who cannot trick or treat anymore, plan a Halloween sleepover. This is especially fun if there is a costume party beforehand - such as at school or the community center. Afterwards, everyone comes back to your house to continue the fun.

What steps should be taken to organize this celebration?
Send invitiations. Remind everyone to bring sleeping bags.
Buy decorations - pumpkins, candles, Halloween paper products.
Rent a few scary movies. (Check titles with other parents first, and watch the movie yourself beforehand. Remember old favorites like "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.")
Serve Halloween-type food - pumpkin cookies, candy, orange punch.
Plan breakfast for the morning after.

Additional comments:
Depending on the age of the guests, a few scary surprises can be planned. Perhaps a few fun-loving parents would like to pipe spooky music into the room, make scary noises outside the window, or provide some bumps and groans from the attic. It's delightfully frightening.
