How much time does it take to prepare for this celebration?
It depends on how elaborate you want to make it
Describe your Halloween celebration idea:
Black t-shirt, with front patrolled by approx. 2 dozen Pairs of Eyes, various sizes.
'Wiggly' eyes...
What steps should be taken to organize this celebration?
For each shirt, you will need:
Black T shirt (launder before applying any paints n' stuff)
Put a sheet of cardboard inside, to stretch the shirt flat, and to prevent color bleed to the back of the shirt.
Plastic 'wiggly eyes' ranging from less than 1/4" wide to 3/4 inch (maybe you can find an Assortment in one bag ;-)
Fabric paint(s) w/slim applicator-type tip (example: 'Scribbles' brand; for me, it doesn't spurt like some do ;-)---white, bright orange---maybe even flourescent green, if you like!
*Adhere the eyeballs by pushing them into a drop or puddle o' paint, (according to the size of the eye) Try the small ones first, to get a feel for the process.
What you're aiming for is a sort of random distribution of "they're evvvverrywhere!" pairs of eyeballs, floating at random (vs. lined up like soldiers) Make a preliminary sketch on paper, or lay the eyes out on the shirt to see how it'll look, before going at it w/paint ;-)
*Smaller eyeball pairs look good attached simply attached, with no flourishes.
The 1/2" to 3/4" eyeballs: try Attaching these with white, then Outlining with a slim line of orange or green paint. The larger eyes look nice with a some scowling eyebrows, too.
Additional comments:
Eyebrows are best described as 'm birds'...resembling the M's that small children draw in their blue sky and cloud drawings ;-)
Let the paint dry a minimum of 24 hours before wearing...or touching ;-)
Try one shirt as Prototype if you are considering making it with a group; it helps you streamline technique, and gives an Example people can follow if they like.
You could attach eyeballs with 'Gem Tac'; that'd be fine. But the stuff costs nearly as much as a shirt, and you know those googly eyes are not going to last 100 years (this is definitely a Hand Washable only Holiday creation, but Fun!)
This is a nice 'un-costume' for the whole month of October.
You might also make a matching hat ;-)
