Original, jazz-based, up-beat,up-tempo musical for preschoolers, special needs children/students, their parents, teachers, schools. Online website animated with illutrations by 3 artists, 10 songs kids can hear while pressing buttons to lyrics, other related websites. The story and songs are appropriate for curriculum
guidelines and objectives. Mostly entertaining as well as
educational.
The creator/producer/director of the musical with a kids' cast of 20 and audience of 100, great success before I, the creator, became totally physically disabled 3 years ago. I can no longer attend grad school in music with honors at Columbia University in NYC, nor work as a nurse, School nurse, or any paid job anymore due to mobility and multiple illness obstacles. My hands which played on the CD and website while singing, can no longer play for any reasonable time. But, I continue to write musical stories. A sequel to this first musical in progress for older kids and adults with themes of disability and current war-like conditions.
I miss my students terribly, the magic of the one on one when I taught learning disabled students and had to turn others away due to time constraints, working, grad school, raising
my youngest child, before I became disabled.
I need teachers/organizations to use my material with children within copyright and
and ascap regulations. I need teachers to carry my multiple
intelligence philosopy and imagination to children without my body to do so anymore, at least for the foreseeable future.
The website is listed here and the CD is available through me at

Description of website:
The story is about a tadpole turning into a frog. When I saw this happen in real life for the first time as an adult, I was inspired to write the songs and got artists to give their time to the illustrations.
After I became disabled 3 years ago, I learned to build the website by myself.
I believe that children, especially "special needs" kids and preschool age, can use this as a tool, as they did when we performed it at a day camp where I was both nurse and music teacher/drama teacher/director. We
had discussions on themes like loss, which I was surprised to find
the children ages 5 to 12 were very interested in talking about.
The songs and story are ethically appropriate and educational, as is the music. The music is very fundamental jazz. The beat has grabbed the attention of toddlers and preschoolers like
glue. They want to hear the songs over and over again.
Also easy on the ears of teachers and parents, in the jazz-classical style, no headaches I'm pretty sure. Please try out the website. I don't think you'll regret the time spent. I have not
found anything like it all over the internet for 3 years home and disabled.
Music has saved me life and soul many times, including through this recent total physical disability. I try not to look back, but forward. There are lessons and ethics in the story of the heroine "Rosie Rainbow" which all ages can see, hear and understand on their own levels. I think this musical teaches songs, basic music, entertains, and teaches about life and some of the best ways to conquer adversity.
